Last summer, I had the incredible opportunity to go on a golf trip to Aberdeen, Scotland, known as the “Granite City” and home to some of the best golf courses in the world. As a passionate golfer, I had always dreamed of playing on the historic links courses in Scotland, and Aberdeen did not disappoint.
My journey started with a flight into Aberdeen International Airport, where I was greeted by the cool Scottish breeze and stunning views of the North Sea. I quickly made my way to my accommodations, a charming bed and breakfast located just a short drive from the golf courses.
The first course I played was Royal Aberdeen Golf Club, one of the oldest and most prestigious clubs in Scotland. The course was a true test of my skills, with its undulating fairways, deep bunkers, and fast greens. The beautiful views of the coastline added to the experience, making each hole a memorable challenge.
Next, I played at Trump International Golf Links, Aberdeen, a newer course designed by renowned golf architect Martin Hawtree. The course featured dramatic dunes, deep rough, and stunning views of the Scottish countryside. It was a true links experience, with the wind adding an extra element of difficulty to each shot.
During my trip, I also had the chance to explore the city of Aberdeen itself. I visited the historic Marischal College, the stunning St. Machar’s Cathedral, and the bustling Union Square shopping center. I also enjoyed some delicious Scottish cuisine, indulging in hearty meals of haggis, neeps, and tatties.
Overall, my golf trip to Aberdeen, Scotland was a dream come true. The challenging courses, stunning scenery, and warm Scottish hospitality made for an unforgettable experience. I can’t wait to return to Aberdeen and take on more of its world-class courses. Scotland truly is the birthplace of golf, and Aberdeen is a must-visit destination for any golf enthusiast.
