All Square Itineraries: Mallorca – Part One

Mallorca, the largest of Spain’s Balearic Islands, is a popular destination for travelers seeking sun, sea, and sand. But beyond the beautiful beaches and vibrant nightlife, Mallorca also offers a variety of cultural and natural attractions that make it a perfect destination for a diverse and unforgettable holiday.

In this two-part series, we will provide you with an itinerary that covers some of the best sights and experiences that Mallorca has to offer. From stunning landscapes to charming villages, this itinerary has something for everyone.

Day 1: Palma de Mallorca

Start your trip in the capital city of Palma de Mallorca. Begin your day with a visit to the iconic Cathedral of Santa Maria, also known as La Seu. This Gothic masterpiece overlooks the Mediterranean Sea and is a must-see for any visitor to Mallorca.

After exploring the cathedral, wander through the narrow cobblestone streets of the old town, stopping to admire the beautiful architecture and charming boutiques. Be sure to visit the historic Almudaina Palace and the nearby Es Baluard Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art.

For lunch, head to one of the many tapas bars in the city and sample some of Mallorca’s delicious local dishes, such as ensaimada (a sweet pastry) and sobrassada (a cured sausage). In the afternoon, take a leisurely stroll along the marina and relax on one of the city’s golden beaches.

Day 2: Serra de Tramuntana

On your second day, rent a car and drive to the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its dramatic landscapes and picturesque villages. Start your day in the charming town of Valldemossa, where you can visit the famous Carthusian monastery and explore the narrow streets lined with traditional stone houses.

Next, head to Deià, a small village that has long been a haven for artists and writers. Take a walk through the village’s winding streets and visit the Church of St. John the Baptist, which offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains and sea.

For lunch, stop at a local restaurant and sample some of the region’s delicious cuisine, such as paella or grilled seafood. In the afternoon, drive along the scenic Ma-10 road, which offers breathtaking views of the rugged coastline and turquoise waters below.
