My golf trip to Tenerife and La Gomera, Spain was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience that I will never forget. From the stunning landscapes to the challenging courses, every aspect of my trip was truly memorable.
We started our journey in Tenerife, the largest of the Canary Islands. We were immediately struck by the beauty of the island, with its towering volcanic peaks and lush greenery. Our first stop was the Abama Golf Resort, a world-class course located on the southwest coast of the island. Designed by renowned architect Dave Thomas, the course features breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean and challenging holes that kept us on our toes.
After a few days of golfing in Tenerife, we hopped on a short ferry ride to La Gomera, a smaller and more remote island just a few miles away. The contrast between the two islands was striking, with La Gomera’s rugged landscapes and unspoiled beauty making it a golfer’s paradise. Our main stop in La Gomera was the Tecina Golf Club, a scenic course perched on a cliff overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The course’s unique layout and challenging elevation changes provided a truly unforgettable golfing experience.
In between rounds of golf, we took the time to explore the islands and immerse ourselves in the local culture. We sampled traditional Canarian cuisine, explored charming villages, and hiked through the lush forests that cover much of the islands. We also took a day trip to Mount Teide, the highest peak in Spain, where we marveled at the stunning views and unique volcanic landscapes.
Overall, our golf trip to Tenerife and La Gomera was a dream come true. The combination of world-class courses, stunning scenery, and warm hospitality made it an experience we will never forget. I would highly recommend a golf trip to these beautiful islands to any avid golfer looking for a truly unforgettable experience.
